Dipankar Dasgupta lives in Kolkata, India, where he was born and will probably die as well. An academic economist by profession, having received a PhD from the University of Rochester, USA and taught mostly in the Indian Statistical Institute and a few other universities in Canada, Japan and Hong Kong. He retired from teaching in 2006. He has been engaged in creative writing since when he cannot exactly remember, except that it began before he retired. He participated in Gun.
