We got to talking and thought it would be fun to try and find some backgrounds for people working from home, and those pesky video calls. Whether you're Zooming, Teaming, Skyping, or Meeting here are some backgrounds on the darker side. Ya know? Like us. But seriously, from Emerald Dragon to yours, stay safe and healthy. Congratulations, reader! You have reached the end of Night Aggressions. This is the last chapter, and we're so excited for you to finish the journey. Please, we ask you to take a moment after reading to leave your comments in the comments below and head over to the Night Aggressions page -- where you can rate and review the story for future readers.
It's hard to believe we've been on this journey since October, but here we go. And it's also hard to believe that I'm writing this post under a stay-at-home order, because of a pandemic. Needless to say, had I known the COVID-19 stuff was going to go down, I would have picked a different story to post. But here we are... If you enjoyed reading our free story, Night Aggressions, please consider purchasing one of other books on the website. We have Fatal Flaws and Gun out now, and more coming in the future -- like Sweet Sixteen Killer. And don't forget to stick with the blog, as I'm sure we may drop another story for your reading pleasure come October again. 😉 Shoutout to my collaborator on this, Trent Becker, and Jake Cesarone for editing all these chapters as they came. It was a group effort. Peace, Nathan Weaver

Since Night Aggressions has come to a close after 27 chapters, and almost the same amount of weeks, I figured I would share a few things. Like my music playlist that grew with the story as I worked on it. I'm embedding the playlist directly below (don't worry, no spoilers).
Music is always important to me while thinking about a story, developing it, writing it, and so on. It plays a pivotal role in my work. Sometimes it even hinders me, if I can't find the right sound.
You may listen to some of the songs in my playlist and wonder how they fit in? The soundtrack pieces may make more sense than, say, Warren G and Nate Dogg's Regulate. But I knew in my head that Regulate was the song Mandy was listening to on her smoke break. I also knew that 90s rap and hip-hop was her jive, thus the inclusion of some of those songs. Other songs set a whole mood or theme for a chapter. Those songs I usually used as subtitles, if you were paying attention. "A seven nation army couldn't hold her back", "Your own personal Jesus", and so on. Let's chat below in the comments
Do you find music works the same way for you, or do you find music to be a hindrance to the creative process? How does music fit, or not, in your writing? Sound off in the comments below.
